The primary objective of a Shipper / Receiver is to ship and receive incoming and outgoing material and supplies.
They will provide support to all members of the production teams to help them to achieve the performance targets by efficiently and effectively locating materials to the proper locations; shipping client orders out in an efficient & effective manner and meet or exceed all client expectations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Supervised loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that merchandise was handled with care and placed correctly into Master Coil storage or on to Trucks.
• Prepare and ship materials and/or finished goods in a timely manner according to client requirements.
• Process all invoicing, freight forwarding and packing slips or B.O.L / Used computerized system (ERP) to verify and pull inventory (Finish Goods)
• Shipped/Received high volume of orders daily; followed all procedures SWS/JI and kept accurate records
• Weekly cycle counts on inventory / Keep material items neatly organized and building grounds
.Assist clients in meeting unique storage and delivery requirements / Safely Operate forklift and related materials-handling equipment
• May perform other related duties as required and /or assigned / Support WIP Material flow and rack conditions
Level 3
• Operating power tools for the decanning process
• Familiar with truck sizes
• Loading small shipments
• Basic math skills / Familiar with decoiling / Decanning
• Understanding of basic shipping orders and procedures / Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas / Cleaning loading area for any nails, debris that could damage products
Level 2 Shipping
• Understanding of basic shipping orders and procedures / Loading small shipments and familiar with larger shipments / Check shipping module and prioritize what needs to be shipped
• Locate orders and load truck in a timely manner / Understand weight to order ratio for trucks when loading / ensure that product is staged and waiting to be used is placed in safe areas
Quality Knowledge Requirements:
• Safe Work Standards/Job Instructions
• 200 Level Manuals as designated (calibration, doc)
Quality Plan Level 1
• Prioritize shipment requests through emails and shipping module / Communicate with team leader, Logistics Coordinator, and flow leader / Provide assistance to team members if needed
• Highly knowledgeable on shipping and receiving methods used / Verifying orders to ensure correct orders are shipped
• Familiar with domestic and international regulatory requirements associated with the processing and shipment of company products.
Quality Knowledge Requirements:
• Safe Work Standards/Job Instructions able to Train/Audit
• 200 Level Manuals as designated(calibration, doc
Quality Plan Qualifications:
• Computer skills required / Organized and be able to multi task / Able to problem solve under minimal supervision
• Knowledge of steel grades would be considered an asset
• Previous knowledge of shipping & receiving would be an asset
• Must have an Excellent performance and attendance record
• A Valid Forklift, High Reach and Crane License are required.
• Must be client focused.
Working Conditions:
The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment at all times while on the shop floor. The employee is subject to loud noise when on the shop floor. The physical demands of the job include heavy lifting up to 50lbs, periods of sitting, standing and walking.
