Are you new to Canada and Halton?
We offer free programs and events that can help newcomers settle in Canada.

Eligibility: CUAET, Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees


Community Connections programs and events are free and designed to help you:

  • Learn about life in Canada
  • Meet new friends and newcomers alike
  • Engage with your community
  • Build social connections
  • Learn about other programs and events available in your community
  • Improve your English conversation skills in a relaxed atmosphere
  • Build your speaking confidence
  • Learn new skills for work or personal growth

Current Programs


Newcomer Conversation Circles

Make friends and get to know your community, improve your English and learn more about day-to-day life in Canada. Program is held in English, French, Ukrainian and for Seniors

Social Club for Newcomers

Join us once a week in Milton, Burlington or Oakville to socialize, learn new skills, explore hobbies, make new friends, improve your mood and well being.

Do you need to improve your computer literacy skills? Meet with us in our Burlington or Milton offices to learn and practice new computer literacy skills.

Join us and guest speakers as we discuss various parenting challenges newcomer families face. Learn about strategies and tips on how to recognize and handle those challenges.
