Winter Holiday Closure
All Centre for Skills locations will close early at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, and remain closed for the holidays.
Employment Services will offer remote services from December 29–31, 2025.
We will resume our regular working hours on Friday, January 2, 2026.

Are you new to Canada and Halton? We offer free programs for newcomers who are looking to settle in Halton region in Canada. Our programs will help you make new social connections, meet new friends, improve your skills and learn about life in Canada.

Conversation Circles for newcomers
Make friends and get to know your community, improve your English and learn more about day-to-day life in Canada. Program is held in English, in-person in Oakville, Burlington and Milton.
Conversation Circles for Seniors
Make friends and get to know your community, improve your English and learn more about day-to-day life in Canada. Program is held in English, on-line for senior newcomers every Thursday.
Sewing Machine in Milton
This 3-week free program is designed for newcomers who want to build or enhance their sewing and alterations skills. Participants will gain hands-on experience in sewing techniques and learn the fundamentals of starting and running a small business in Canada.
Program starts January 2026
