We're seeking a Purchasing and Planning Coordinator with a dynamic personality to provide a meaningful impact with a focus on continuous improvement. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing and Planning Coordinator is responsible for the purchasing function for the business. In conjunction with the rest of the purchasing team, they will ensure our supply chain runs smoothly, and vendor relationships are maintained. They will also be responsible for the Production Planning Process for Vend-Packaging and Acton Dip line. Ensure adequate raw materials for the entire Acton Production process. 

Superior Glove has locations in Ontario, Alberta and Newfoundland, Canada, New York, North Carolina and Louisiana USA, Honduras and Mexico. The successful candidate will be based in Acton, ON and must be willing and able to travel to other locations, sometimes with extended stays, as required. 

Location: 

This position is based on-site from our Acton, ON headquarters. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Enter container data for finished goods (FG) and raw materials. 

  • Support the import coordinator and handle purchase order (PO) entry and confirmations. 

  • Prepare and maintain production schedules and weekly reports. 

  • Ensure supplier compliance to SGW specifications, including artwork, receiving standards, and technical specifications. 

  • Track purchase orders, set up freight, and oversee shipments to ensure timely delivery while maintaining estimated arrival times (ETAs) in real-time. 

  • Track and manage inbound shipments of raw materials (RM) and finished goods (FG) for Canada and the USA, including estimating and recording freight costs for shipments and keeping cost templates up to date. 

  • Support the transition to NetSuite by coordinating activities, updating, and uploading information from Exenta ensuring data accuracy. 

  • Collaborate with teams in Acton and North Carolina to meet raw material requirements, coordinate maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) purchases, and support NetSuite data migration. 

  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and provide raw material forecasts as needed. 

  • Negotiate pricing and sourcing details with vendors. 

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on purchasing and inventory management. 

  • Manage the entire purchasing process from start to finish, adhering to SGW standards. 

  • Act as a back up for other positions during absence coverage. 

Qualifications: 

  • 3 years of supply management experience. 

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Textile Studies or related program. 

  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite), Microsoft Office Suite, and data management tools. 

  • Experience managing customer or distributor accounts is valuable. 

  • Prior experience with Project Management software (i.e., Asana) would be an asset. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate requirements and follow up assertively with cross-functional teams. 

  • Exposure to project management, especially within supply chain or manufacturing environments, is preferred. 

  • Team player, but also self-driven with a proven skill to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization. 

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills. 

  • High attention to detail with accurate data entry skills. 

  • Must be assertive, comfortable in taking initiative, ability to execute quickly.
