Job Description:
ECE's (Early Childhood Education) has to have completed their education.
ECA’s ( assistant) has to have at least 1 year experience at a licensed childcare centre
  • Demonstrate an approachable, professional demeanour in interactions with children, colleagues, and families and provide them with a sense of security and welcome
  • Ensure the CCEYA, regulatory standards, “How Does Learning Happen?”, and Lullaboo policies including Program Statement are implemented and monitor staff for compliance
  • Approve classroom programming and ensure: quality of programming meets the highest possible standard, it is based on children’s interests and activities are open-ended, child- directed, and educator-supported
  • Ensure new hires feel welcome and comfortable in the Lullaboo environment
  • Implement hands-on training with great accuracy for all new hires and ensure they are knowledgeable in all policies, classroom procedures, documentation and iCare software
  • Complete reports upon concluding new hire training within 24 hours
  • Implement ongoing training and workshops with great accuracy for current staff to support effective change implementation and continuous professional development
  • Provide tour and orientation for new placement students
  • Complete regular quality assurance reviews for classrooms and full center checks 
  • Advocate for the inclusion of all children in the program to maximize children’s engagement and participation within daily classroom routines
  • Coach educators to understand all children’s needs and be responsive in modifying programming, the classroom environment, and opportunities for engagement accordingly
  • Assist educators to better support children (birth to school entry) with support needs through coaching and collaborative consultation with educators, families, regional Resource Consultants (RCs) / Early Interventionists (EIs), and other professionals as required
  • Support the development of children’s Individual Support Plans and implementation with functional outcomes compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Create weekly schedule with input of manager
  • Provide regular updates to Center Supervisor and District Manager regarding the progress and development of the classrooms, staff, and programming
  • Organize monthly calendar of events (including paid and non-paid events) and newsletter for families and lead implementation of all events
  • Ensure classroom environments are set up effectively (including furniture layout, organization of materials, child-directed displays) and approve changes to layouts
  • Order and distribute materials (ex. office supplies, art supplies, toys and classroom equipment)
  • Update administrative documentation as needed (ex. room routines, shift responsibilities)
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners including: regional quality initiatives representatives (ex. Raising the Bar, CQIP), regional early years specialists (ex. Peel EYS, Waterloo Pedagogical Consultant), regional special needs support organizations (ex. PIRS, KWHab, York EIS), etc.
  • Participate in and implement regional quality initiative programs and fully develop and integrate the program with all educators and children (where applicable) • Complete daily and monthly Health & Safety checks and Playground Checks (as required)
  • Cover classroom ratio when needed
