Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to join our team. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all applicable regulations with respect to Company Drivers, Independent contractor files with established processes, procedures, and protocols. These policies include but are not limited to: Occupational Health and Safety, Driver Qualification, Highway Traffic Act, Ministry of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and Tandet Internal policies.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain driver files/Independent Contractor files to adhere to US Department of Transportation regulations and Tandet safety qualifications.
- Review/audit driver files to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor compliance with all applicable regulations, identify and report concerns to Manager.
- Fines- research, track, respond and report on fines and convictions.
- Monitor compliance profiles and flag issues, including new or changing regulations
- Maintain the Drug & Alcohol program, and conduct pre-employment and random drug tests
- Conduct all prescreening and on boarding of potential driving candidates
- Monitor and track all WSIB & WSIB alternative health coverage
- Track all expiries including equipment, permit, and driver related expiried
- Issue and manage all fuel cards
- Track and manage all equipment safeties and related safety certificates
- Other duties as assigned

Required:
- Post Secondary Education
- Proven experience working in a compliance role an asset
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft programs.
Nice-to-have:
- Certification in Compliance or related field
- Experience in transportation, safety or compliance
