We are currently hiring for an Inventory Control Specialist to join our team!
Job Description:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular inventory audits, and implementing inventory control procedures within the warehouse of a manufacturing plant. This role ensures that inventory levels are optimized to meet production demands while minimizing excess stock and costs. The Inventory Control Specialist works closely with warehouse staff, purchasing, production, and shipping departments to ensure seamless operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels, avoiding overstock and stockouts.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to reorder materials and supplies as needed.
- Perform scheduled and random inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare detailed inventory reports, including metrics such as inventory accuracy, turnover rates, and valuation.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Provide recommendations to the Warehouse supervisor and other stakeholders based on inventory analysis.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize storage space and organization.
- Utilize WMS and other technology solutions to streamline inventory processes and improve accuracy.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve inventory management processes and reduce costs and missing parts/materials.
- Coordinate with the production, purchasing, and shipping departments to align inventory levels with production schedules and customer demands.
- Communicate inventory status and issues to relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to warehouse staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience in inventory control, data analysis, and analytics
- Proficiency in using tools like Power BI for data analysis
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Demonstrate knowledge and an understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Understand how this position impacts the quality of products and services our customers provide.
