AAS Canada is currently seeking to hire a Data Collection Supervisor.
 
Position Overview:
 
The Data Collection Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Data Collection Manager within the Data Collections Team at AAS Canada to execute passenger insight surveys through direct intercepts with travellers at Toronto Pearson International Airport. This role entails not only the administration of these surveys but also a significant involvement in the meticulous planning, execution, evaluation, and continuous enhancement of data collection methodologies. The objective is to ensure the gathered data accurately captures and reflects the passenger experience at the airport.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the ongoing work and implementation of daily data collection to ensure adherence to established targets.
  • Ensure that the team adheres to all survey implementation procedures and completes their assigned interviews within designated timeframes.
  • Engage potential participants for the survey, questionnaire, or interview with a demeanour that reflects respect, professionalism, and confidence.
  • Employ techniques that encourage open dialogue and ensure clarity in communication to facilitate effective participation from respondents.
  • Accurately collect assigned project data and address any inquiries from survey participants regarding the various surveys.
  • Prepare work schedules for staff in advance and manage schedule changes on the day of execution.
  • Execute advanced sample planning tasks.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on the passenger information kiosk to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding processes for Data Collection Representatives, ensuring they possess the requisite skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Data Collection Manager to review and make necessary adjustments to the training program and associated materials to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
  • Provide comprehensive and insightful performance assessments of trainees to the Data Collection Manager during specified evaluation periods, ensuring they have the information necessary to promote growth and excellence.
  • Aid in the implementation of program objectives and contribute to the development of program evaluation tools.
  • Assist in formulating and executing an outreach plan to engage potential participants for the survey, questionnaire, or interview.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Data Collection Representatives, Managers, and GTAA representatives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Data Collection Representatives and coordinate the resolution of any logistical issues that arise during data collection, escalating any unresolved issues to the Data Collection Manager.
  • Identify patterns of program successes and challenges in accordance with compliance standards.
  • Provide additional reporting and feedback, both oral and written, on a regular basis to Data Collection Representatives as required.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Data Collection Manager when required.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Three years of Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centric-focused environment.
  • Possession of a university degree is preferred, or alternatively, three years of relevant experience in a comparable role with a demonstrated proven track record.
  • Experience in public interception through the execution of data-gathering activities.
  • Airport Experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Proficient in both qualitative and quantitative data collection methodologies.
  • Proficient troubleshooting expertise and extensive experience with Apple iPads.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
  • A highly analytical thinker with advanced critical thinking abilities, proficient in evaluating complex data and deriving insightful conclusions.
  • Capable of prioritizing workload to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Willingness and capacity to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Hands-on experience in data collection and the utilization of electronic devices.
  • Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
  • Ability to speak a second language is considered a strong asset.
