Ontario Online Highschool 

Ontario Online Highschool offers Ontario Secondary School Courses in an online format to give you for convenience and flexibility to study 24/7 and complete within a 12-month period starting at any time.

Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) *Formerly GED*

The CAEC replaced the GED on May 3, 2024. It now includes six subjects: Math, Reading, Science, Social Science, Writing, and Indigenous Studies. Key points: 

  • Available in English and French 
  • ​Eligibility: 18 years +, a "date of leaving" letter from last high school attended 
  • GED certificate = Canadian Secondary School Diploma (Test costs $100 CAD).

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) 

PLAR is designed for adults 18+ who were previously enrolled in a secondary school outside Ontario. It builds on prior learning to avoid unnecessary duplication, allowing students to complete a Secondary School Diploma equivalent more efficiently.

Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) 

ACE offers academic upgrading for college and career preparation. Features include: 

  • Courses in subjects including math, sciences, communications, and technology 
  • Recognized by all Ontario colleges as a high school diploma equivalent 
  • Provides essential skills training to help reach academic goals

Doorways Program 

Offered by The Centre for Skills, Doorways is an upgrading program that focuses on: 

  • Financial Literacy 
  • Goal Setting 
  • Math 
  • Studying and Test Skills 
  • Writing 

This program aims to prepare participants for employment and apprenticeships.
