Learning About Careers in the Canadian Navy!

This week, our Get In Gear students and Employment Services clients had the opportunity to learn first-hand about careers in the Canadian Navy when they were invited to attend a VIP tour and sail aboard the warship HMCS St.Johns.

The Halifax class frigate is currently completing it’s great lakes tour and was docked in Toronto for a few days.

The clients and staff were picked up in Burlington and transported to Toronto then aboard the ship and given a tour of the Hangar, flight deck, Ops room and Bridge.

The ship was boarded by RCMP members carrying out a training exercise and completed a number of high speed maneuvers. There were also a number of weapons and diving equipment demonstrations. All attendees were invited and encouraged to ask questions of any and all CAF members.
