The Centre for Skills Development & Training in partnership with the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar (RCOT) is proud to announce the launching of our Tiny Home RV program. The program will provide students with valuable, essential, construction skills, while minimizing the waste-to-landfill and carbon emissions created during the training and construction process.
This 12-week part-time program is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2018. It combines practical hands-on construction training with essential theory instruction. Students graduate with a well-rounded, relevant skill set, experience and safety certifications for an entry level position in the construction industry.
Built to the Ontario Building Code, these fully insulated, all-season units will be auctioned off by Rotary with a portion of the proceeds being returned as bursaries to support students participating in the program.
Phase two of the program scheduled for the fall of 2019 will see various other residential structures built at The Centre for Skills Development & training shipped to local indigenous communities to be finished by students in their skilled trades program and eventually installed in the community.
