On April 5, a line up of people were eagerly waiting outside of the Milton Sports Centre for the doors to open for The Centre's Milton Job Fair.
Throughout the day, over 300 interested community members bustled inside to speak with 30+ local employers.
"The Job Fair proved a great success, as we are continuing to receive great feedback from employers who have found candidates for the time being, as well as for the future," says Paul Long, Job Developer of The Centre. "Both members of the community and employers are already asking when our next event is!"
Sandra McLoughlin, Human Resources Manager for Northern Reflections has already hired four employees from the Job Fair, and is still looking at prospective candidates. "With a turn out like this, it really makes coming here to speak to interested applicants worthwhile," says Sandra.
These job fairs provide a great opportunity for both the employer and interested applicants to connect face-to-face, and discuss what options are available to them. Employers in attendance ranged from the service sector, business, energy, skilled trades and more.
"Our goal is to connect members of our community with sustainable and meaningful employment, and with the results we had, hope to plan for more Job Fairs of this caliber in the future," says Paul Long.
