Paulina Brambila

By Yatsa Smajovic

My name is Paulina Brambila, and I came to Canada from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in May 2023. I have a background in marketing and personal training, and before moving, I used to teach spin classes. I’m a proud mother of two adult children and recently married a Canadian. I currently live in Ottawa and work at GoodLife Fitness.
When I arrived, I knew that improving my English would be essential to adjusting to my new life. My biggest challenge has been understanding fast-spoken English—especially when talking with my Canadian in-laws. That’s why I decided to join English classes, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

I truly want to recommend my English school: Centre for Skills – Enhanced Language Training program. It’s not just a place to study—it’s a warm and welcoming environment that motivates you to learn and grow.

My instructors, Lara Lyn, Angela and Ryan, have played an important role in my progress. Lara Lyn and Angela gave me the confidence to speak and participate in class, always offering encouragement and support. Ryan’s practical presentations helped me understand how to communicate better in real-life situations.

Thanks to them, I feel much more confident speaking English, and I understand more every day. I’ve gone from being afraid of making mistakes to actually enjoying the learning process. My goal is to keep studying, take more courses, and continue building my confidence.

I highly recommend this school to anyone new to Canada who wants to improve their English and feel part of a community. Learning here has been a big and meaningful step in my journey.
