POSITION SUMMARY
Nartech Metal Products Ltd. is seeking a motivated Tool and Die Maker Apprentice to support its tooling and manufacturing operations.
This opportunity is suited to individuals interested in developing their technical skills in tool and die making, precision machining, tooling maintenance and metal-stamping operations.
The employer is open to candidates at different stages of their apprenticeship journey, including those seeking to begin their apprenticeship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the fabrication, assembly, maintenance and repair of tools, dies, jigs and fixtures used in manufacturing operations.
- Support the inspection, adjustment and troubleshooting of tooling and die components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
- Use hand tools, precision measuring instruments and machining equipment as directed.
- Assist with tooling setups, adjustments and repairs to support production requirements.
- Identify tooling wear, damage or performance issues and report findings to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Follow established workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with experienced Tool & Die Makers, maintenance personnel and production teams.
REQUIRED / RECOMMENDED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Employer is open to candidates at all apprenticeship levels, including entry-level applicants.
- Mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in the Tool & Die Maker trade.
- Basic understanding of machining, metalworking or manufacturing processes is an asset.
- Exposure to tool and die making, metal stamping, machining or industrial manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
- Familiarity with hand tools, machining equipment and precision measuring instruments is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively and develop skills through hands-on training.
- Good organizational, problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Commitment to safe work practices in an industrial manufacturing environment.
