Position Summary:
As the shipping/receiving clerk, you are responsible for helping our warehouse run efficiently and effectively. At FSS, we make it a priority to go above and beyond on all customer interactions. Therefore, we consider our warehouse to be a well-oiled machine, driven by a customer centric mentality. As the shipper/receiver your role is fundamental to achieving our company’s strategic
vision. You will be tasked with tracking inventory levels, handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, as well as maintaining accurate records.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receive merchandise – check and sign delivery slips, and assist with unloading as
necessary.
- Collaborate and communicate with logistics technicians, customer service representatives,
service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Organize the distribution and shipping of merchandise.
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
- Unpack and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
- Accept or return merchandise according to established company procedures.
- Affix bar codes, prices, and security tags as necessary.
- Assemble containers and crates, package goods to be shipped and prepare information and
shipping instructions.
- Perform equipment inspections with the ability to life 25/50 pounds.
- To carry out any other tasks which may be reasonably expected for the promotion and support of our business.
- Any other such duties as may be determined by your reporting Manager.
Position Requirements:
- Can safely and effectively operate a forklift to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
- Knows safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
- Knows proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods.
- Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
- Able to work independently and within a team setting.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Current Forklift Certification.
- Related experience in inventory, stock, shipping, receiving preferred.
