Our Flexible Packaging Pouch Converting Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of our pouch converting lines. As the last step of the manufacturing process, this role requires extremely close attention to detail and a drive to provide optimal products for our clients.
Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience of machine operation, including machine tooling management, extensive control settings, and replacing spare parts as needed;
- Experience working with pouch converting machines, multi-layer laminated stand-up pouches, quad seal pouches, flat bottom pouches, 3 side seal, and vacuum pouches, is a significant asset;
- Impressive attention to detail;
- Experience trouble-shooting a variety of production concerns;
- As passion for continuously improving company processes;
- Previous experience with Nulogy or other ERP systems an asset.
Responsibilities
- Setting up machines for various types and sizes of flexible packaging, based on various specifications
- Operating pouch converting machine, trouble-shooting inconsistencies, paying extremely close attention to machine outputs, quality control, and variances
- Managing machine tooling, general machine maintenance, replacing parts, and reporting issues or potential future issues to management.
- Taking an active learning role for company product knowledge and allowable variances.
- Maintaining various reports, compliance paperwork, and work logs.
- Following appropriate naming conventions, shorthand, and notes to complete logs.
- Providing feedback on new materials and processes from an efficiency and sustainability perspective
- Keeping a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Working as part of the team to ensure deliverables are met, ensuring proper communication between teams during shift change and handoff.
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with all production staff.
