Job Title: Marketing & Communications Assistant
Department: Administration
Location: Virtual / On-site in Burlington
Contract Length: July 6, 2026 to August 28, 2026 (8 weeks)
Schedule: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Reports To: Communications & Social Media Specialist
Salary: $17.60 per hour
Reason for Vacancy: Current Open Position
These are your responsibilities:
-Gather, research and prepare communications material for internal and external audiences.
-Assist in Development and implementation of advertising campaigns appropriate for print or electronic media.
-Assist in collecting and analyzing information on social media channels.
-Assisting in content development for blogs, newsletters and social media.
-Creating promotional materials like posters, brochures and social media posts.
-Other duties as assigned by the Communications & Social Media Specialist / Operations Director
What you bring to this job:
-Under Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) guidelines, to be eligible, applicants must:
-Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of their summer job.
-Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the job.
-Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
-Flexible, adaptable and detail-oriented
-Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook and working knowledge of virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom
-Experience using creative apps for the purpose of social media and other visual content creation considered an asset (Adobe suite, Canva, etc.)
-Past experience in a similar role will be considered an asset
