Machinist Helper

Job Description

• Maintain machine shop in a clean and organized manner
• Perform routine maintenance to factory equipment and property (Ex. Machines, storage racking, overhead doors, etc.)
• Assist machinists, welders, and other technicians with daily operations
• Participate in regular inventory count
• Load, unload and move products and materials using basic material handling equipment and by hand.
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precision measurement tools
• Set up and operate cold saw, drill press, mill, polisher, and lathe.
• Read and interpret work orders and general production drawings.
• Material selection, handling and organizing

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Drivers License
• Comprehension of written and verbal communication skills
• Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction/multiplication/division)
• Enthusiastic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized with good time management and problem-solving skills
• Steel toe shoes are required
• Knowledge of workplace safety precautions
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Experience:

• Fundamental knowledge of Machine Shop Equipment
• 1-3 years as Machinist Helper
• Possible Apprentice Machinist
• machinist: 1 year (preferred)
