At La Rose Specialty Foods Inc. in Milton, ON, (www.larosebakery.com) we have been servicing the Milton and surrounding areas for over 40 years with freshly baked breads, buns, pastries and cakes made from scratch every day, store-made traditional Italian food in our hot table and catering menu, full-service deli and cheese counter, unique specialty foods imported from all over the world as well as domestic products, espresso bar and lots more.
What You Will Do:
- Stocking, merchandising and organizing shelves with products being delivered from suppliers
- Rotating stock and checking expiry dates
- Checking stock status by performing physical counts on shelves and back stock
- Organizing back stock as a support for the grocery, dairy, and deli departments
- Cleaning, dusting, filling/facing shelves with product to sell
- Receiving deliveries from suppliers and checking that correct quantities arrived
- Assisting with tagging prices and promotions that have been approved by the Store Manager
Qualifications:
- Friendly, respectful, team player with customer service skills
- Experience in grocery/retail customer service industry is greatly beneficial
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and may enter the cold room several times over the course of each shift
- Detail-oriented, organized, able to handle products and packaging in a neat, and tidy fashion
- Must be willing to learn how to use a forklift and pumpjack. Prior experience with machinery is appreciated but not necessary
- Interest in learning about domestic and imported specialty products
- Must be available 5 days a week for full time
- Must be available at least one day on the weekend every weekend; shifts can frequently be up to 10 hours in length (currently, the weekend day is Sundays)
- Must be available for flexible shifts that start as early as 7 am until 10 a.m. and shifts that end as late as 7 pm on weekdays and as late as 5 p.m. on weekends
- Available to work on weekends and holidays, as scheduled and able to start earlier such as for shifts in advance of Christmas and Easter
- Completion of on-line Health and Safety course before start date is a requirement
The store is closed Mondays, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, and some additional statutory holidays. Grocery Clerks typically have Saturdays off unless it is Thanksgiving Saturday or Mondays off, unless it is Christmas Eve or New Years Eve.
