Contract Length: Mississauga – June 8, 2026 to August 28, 2026 (12 weeks)
Burlington / Milton / Oakville – July 6, 2026 to August 28, 2026 (8 weeks)
Schedule: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Reports To: Program Coordinator
Salary:$17.60 per hour

These are your responsibilities:
-Provide information about Centre for Skills services / programs over the phone, in-person, and via e-mail to clients, community partners and the general public.
-Greet and direct new customers upon arrival to the service site.
-Support clients from diverse backgrounds including youth with higher support needs, people on social assistance and newcomers in conducting labour market research.
-Keep all resource area materials current, replenished and arranged in a neat and orderly fashion.
-Ensure all clients are provided with a thorough orientation to the resource center and fully understand our “Code of Conduct” and “Guidelines for Use”; resolve client situations in an appropriate and professional manner.
-Assist clients to book intake, employment counseling and workshop appointments, by phone or in person.
-Help clients troubleshoot basic computer-related problems in our Resource Centre area.
-Support clients in conducting web-based job searches, labour market research, formatting job search documents, and creating email accounts and attaching resumes to online job applications.
-Research community resources and provide clients with appropriate information related to various community-based programs in Halton and Peel.
-Assist with following up with previous Centre for Skills clients for an update on their job search progress.
-Assist with workshop facilitation, co-hosting virtual workshops and/or researching new content for workshops.
-Using a team-based approach, provide administrative support, including data entry, filing, photocopying, and record keeping.
-Assist with community outreach events, using a leadership approach to represent the organization professionally.
-Other job-related duties as assigned by Program Coordinator.
What you bring to this job:
-Under Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) guidelines, to be eligible, applicants must:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of their summer job.
-Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the job.
-Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a work team
-Excellent customer service skills; friendly, approachable and welcoming interpersonal style
-Ability to be non-judgmental and show empathy when dealing with diverse range of clientele, while also maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
-Flexible, adaptable and detail-oriented
-Proficient with MS Office applications: Word, Excel and Outlook and working knowledge of virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom
-Past experience in a similar role will be considered an asset
-Willingness to travel throughout Halton and Peel regions on occasion
