Media Resources is seeking a resourceful, self‑motivated Electronics Test Technician to enhance production activity, uphold standardized procedures and QA practices, support effective labour utilization, and promote cross‑training.
The main responsibilities include component‑level testing and overseeing the rework, repair, and testing of our digital and module products. This involves coordinating all electrical and electronic component repairs (including SMD and RGB modules) with internal and external parties. You will also assist Engineering team with design, development, and implementation of new testers required before and after repairs to ensure quality work. Additional duties include analyzing tester issues, driving solutions, recommending performance improvements to management, and meeting on‑time delivery commitments to our customers.
The successful incumbent will maintain a positive and professional attitude with all levels of staff and displaying hands on leadership.
The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:
- Performs a lead role in overseeing RMA, repairs, and rework, with a focus on coordinating and delivering inventory for repairs and monitoring projects that require reworked modules or refacing.
- Works with all production facilities to meet customer schedules, support long‑term planning, deliver training, and facilitate effective solutions.
- Handles all Service Department shipping requirements for clients, including tracking hardware shipments and returns from subcontractors across the U.S. and Canada.
- Responsible for Maintaining Inventory counts across various spare parts depots in the US and Canada.
- Coordinates with third‑party vendors on the return of parts covered under manufacturer warranties.
- Works within the MS Dynamics CRM system to maintain accurate traceability of all parts sent and received through the Service Department.
- Designs, develops, and updates SOPs while applying best standard practices throughout the rework and repair process. Responsibilities include conducting time studies, editing or creating new Work Instructions (WIs) or SOPs, and providing training and communication.
- Analyzes component‑related production issues to determine root cause, validating tester capabilities and performance, monitoring issue frequency, performing required repairs, and maintaining accurate data records.
- Collaborates closely with Design Engineering teams to recommend solutions, procedures, and strategies that optimize performance and address related product or process issues.
- Conducts bench test simulations, design reviews, and validation activities.
- Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with Inventory, Service, and Customer Service teams to support effective feedback on test procedures and product performance.
- Maintains documentation for test results, repair outcomes, and the monitoring of inventory and project activities.
- Provides training instructions on testing and conducts assembler training as required.
- Travels to other company locations as needed to provide on-site support.
- Contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment across the MRI organization.
- Other responsibilities, functions, duties and projects as assigned by management.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Academic Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or technologies.
- Equivalent education or experience in electronics testing, repair, or manufacturing operations is acceptable.
From $26 an hour – Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours of Work: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
