Join our team as an Electrical Engineering Designer and play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical power and control systems for the refrigeration and cooling industry. In this hands-on position, you’ll contribute to the design and development of motor controls, programmable logic controllers, and electrical instrumentation. Ideal candidates have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, are mechanically and electrically inclined, and bring experience in electrical engineering design for manufacturing environments. 
This is an in-office role based out of Burlington, ON, reporting to our Electrical Engineering Group.

What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in project kick-off meetings to define scope, requirements, deliverables, budget, and timelines.  
  • Design and develop electrical circuits for motor controls using MCCs, VFDs, and Soft Starters.  
  • Perform component sizing and calculations in compliance with Canadian and American standards and codes.  
  • Create control circuits for temperature and pressure regulation using programmable controllers and relay logic.  
  • Prepare electrical drawings and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.  
  • Coordinate starter panel and MCC designs with PLC panel integration.  
  • Generate bills of material and issue requisitions via SAP.  
  • Provide technical support to the Panel Shop and electricians during manufacturing and testing.  
  • Assist the Service Department with remote troubleshooting and equipment commissioning as needed.  
  • Collaborate with project engineering, mechanical teams, customers, and suppliers.  
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. 

What You Bring: 

  • Post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.  
  • Experience in electrical engineering design for manufacturing environments.  
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.  
  • Familiarity with CSA & UL standards and control panel certification processes.  
  • Strong knowledge of AC motor protection and controls, including VFDs, Soft Starters, and PLCs.  
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic instrumentation for process control.  
  • Experience with refrigeration control strategies is an asset.  
  • SAP software experience is an asset.  
  • Hands-on experience with control panel manufacturing processes.  
  • Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage schedules, and meet deadlines.  
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with shop personnel and electricians.
