Pay Rate: starting at $20/h
Schedule: Monday to Thursday (Day Shift) 
Hours of Work: 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 
Summary: 
As a Control System Tester, you will assist the organization to scale up our discrete manufacturing team. You will be focusing on the assembly and testing of electronic displays in our growing manufacturing area; ensuring all products are built to the highest level of quality while following all standard work and best practices as documented in current work instructions. 

Our ideal candidate is someone who works well in a team environment, but who is also able to work autonomously on daily tasks. This position will be within the Manufacturing Operations team and will report to the Product & Project Engineering Manager. 

The primary responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Perform functional testing of LED digital display, including electrical testing, relay testing, and embedded control systems. 
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical, hardware, software, and network issues by reviewing technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagram. 
  • Conduct test plans, procedures, and scripts to validate performances. 
  • Imaging and preparing PC by installing OS, drivers, and required software. 
  • Configuring modems, cameras, routers for IP address, firmware, including network settings, port forwarding, and security options and conducting integral functioning with the digital display. 
  • Perform testing using multimeter, Luminance and Colour Meter. 
  • Conduct life tests (burn-ins) on assemblies and 48-hour burn-in test procedures, record data, and analyze results. 
  • Complete checklist and maintain test records, logs, and detailed reports on system performance, failures, and fixes. 
  • Provide feedback to engineering and production teams for continuous improvement. 
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams. 
  • Daily follow up on implementation and maintenance of quality standards. 
  • Create comprehensive reports from daily collected data, document, and enter them into the ERP system. 
  • Strictly follow health and safety procedures and protocols by working in compliance with OSHA, NEC, UL and CSA. 
  • Work with IT for cyber security guidelines. 

Requirements / Qualifications: 

 Academic Training: 

  • Diploma or high school certificate 
  • Completion of a one- or two-year college program in electrical or electronics engineering technology is an asset. 
  • Certification in electrical or electronics engineering technology or in a related field is available through provincial associations of engineering/applied science technologists and technicians is an asset. 

  Work Experience: 

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing industry.

Specific Competencies: 

  • Experience testing electronic devices and in Quality Control.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary. 
  • Familiar with using personal protective equipment (glasses, gloves, etc.) 
  • Must be proactive and take accountability of assigned projects.
