We’re seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician with a proactive attitude, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

 About the role:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for responsible for maintaining the facility in good working order / repair, upkeep of the property including snow removal in the winter, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and providing support to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations of production activities through regular equipment maintenance.

This individual is highly proactive with strong technical skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on facility systems, production equipment, and manufacturing assets.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support the installation, setup, modification, testing, and calibration of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain production equipment, dip line forms, racks, and related manufacturing assets.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and minor electrical repairs.
  • Maintain outdoor company property, including groundskeeping, lawn care, snow removal, and ensuring safe access to entrances and walkways.
  • Pick up office supplies and company materials, including food items for employee programs, maintain water coolers, and travel between company locations as required to transport equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers to support maintenance and facility projects.
  • Provide backup support for warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and forklift operation when required.
  • Support engineering, operational, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent combined with a minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and other maintenance documentation.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and calibration instruments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.

Preferred

  • Post-secondary education or technical training in a skilled trade, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
  • Maintenance certification (e.g., CMRT) or forklift certification.
  • Experience supporting equipment installations, preventative maintenance programs, or continuous improvement initiatives.
