Rate of pay: $19.00-$20.00
To assist experienced flooring professionals in installing various types of flooring, including vinyl, hardwood, carpet and laminate. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction and flooring installation. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, reliable, and capable of working in a team environment to ensure quality workmanship and timely project completion.
- Assist with the preparation of work sites, including measuring and layout based on blueprints or project specifications
- Handle and operate hand tools such as saws, drills, and trowels under supervision
- Support the installation of flooring materials, including tile laying and subfloor preparation
- Help with surface leveling, caulking, and sealing to ensure proper adhesion and finish
- Perform general carpentry tasks related to flooring projects, including cutting and fitting materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols at all times during the installation process
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools used in construction and flooring installation
- Basic understanding of construction principles and flooring techniques
- Experience or familiarity with tile laying, carpentry, caulking, and general handyman tasks is a plus
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from experienced installers
