Location: Scarborough and surrounding high-density corridors (including Kennedy & Lawrence, Agincourt, Golden Mile, Sheppard East / Markham Rd, L’Amoreaux)

About the Role:
We are hiring a Merchant Sales Representative to drive merchant acquisition in Scarborough and surrounding areas. This role focuses on high-volume, fast-paced sales within:

  • Independent grocery stores
  • Ethnic supermarkets (Caribbean, African, South Asian, Asian markets)
  • Convenience stores and mini-marts
  • Produce markets and specialty retailers

You will be expected to prospect, engage, and close merchants daily through consistent in-person outreach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily field prospecting within assigned Scarborough territory
  • Engage directly with business owners and decision-makers
  • Present and sell SpacePointe’s merchant services and POS solutions
  • Close new merchant accounts and support onboarding transition
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Track activity, follow-ups, and deal progress consistently
  • Meet and exceed defined sales and activity targets

Compensation Structure:

  • Base Salary: $40,000 CAD
  • Commission: Competitive structure based on merchant activations and ongoing processing performance
  • Activation Incentives: Additional earnings tied to each successfully activated merchant
  • Performance Bonuses: Incremental bonuses tied to achieving defined sales and activation thresholds

This is a performance-driven role with uncapped earning potential. Detailed commission, activation, and bonus structures will be shared during the interview process and may be adjusted based on business needs.

What We Are Looking For:

Required:

  • Strong communication skills and confidence in face-to-face sales
  • High energy, persistence, and resilience
  • Ability to handle rejection and maintain momentum
  • Self-driven with strong time and territory management
  • Comfortable working in a fully field-based environment

Preferred:

  • Previous sales experience (field sales, telecom, retail, fintech, or similar)
  • Experience working with small businesses or merchants
  • Familiarity with POS systems or payment processing

Compliance & Requirements:

  • Must pass a background check
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Must adhere to all company compliance, sales, and operational standards
