Job description:

Tandet is looking for a daytime dispatcher out of Mississauga, ON. This is position is an “In-Office” position, Monday to Friday. This position is a daytime shift. Work on weekends and holidays are required as needed.

As a Dedicated dispatcher at Tandet you will be responsible for:

Drivers

  • Assist, plan and dispatch approximately 25 drivers.
  • On Call support for dedicated driver group.
  • Effectively communicate instructions so that drivers are able to perform their duties in a safe and productive manner.
  • Listen to all driver concerns and act on them appropriately as they relate to: Safety, Drivers ability to perform their duties effectively, opportunities that would increase efficiency for both the Company and the customer and dispatch drivers using a fair and consistent approach.

Equipment

  • Schedule equipment preventative maintenance and assist with emergency services
  • Coordinate the daily assignment of company and contracted equipment to maximize equipment utilization.
  • Coordinate the servicing of equipment as required with the shop personnel.
  • Ensure trailer interior washes are completed on time.

Order Management

  • Tracking and tracing for customer information and internal KPI.
  • Ensure all orders are recorded in the dispatch management system in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Ensure notes and other activity items relating to orders are communicated to customer service reps.

Customer Service

  • Maintain 5-6 core relationships
  • Ensure all customer requirements are met, and any changes or deviations are communicated immediately to the customer and other pertinent parties.
  • Bring any service failures to the attention of the customer service department and your direct manager.

Safety and Regulatory

  • Ensure that the driver has can complete each load safely and within the Hours of Work regulations.
  • Ensure that assigned equipment is properly licensed for the jurisdiction and the job requirements.
  • Ensure that customer payload requests match the legal carrying capacity of both the equipment and jurisdiction of travel.

SKILLS

  • Sound knowledge of the transportation industry
  • Experience in bulk commodities is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in computerized environment

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Mississauga, ON L5T 2R2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
