The Driver, G Class picks up and delivers goods (shipments) to & from our customers in a safe and courtesy manner that will improve the company’s efficiency, help achieve the company’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.

 Pay: $21/Hour

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs pick-ups and deliveries with company owned/leased/rented commercial straight trucks within 200 km radius of terminal
  • Performs daily pre and post trip inspections of company equipment, electric walkies, straight trucks
  • Verifies the type, quantity and condition of goods loaded/unloaded compared to the bill of lading or manifest
  • Practices safe handling of goods a tailgate (lift-gate)
  • Accurately maintains appropriate records, including daily logbooks, bills of lading and delivery receipts (POD)
  • Understands and practices safe load securement within weight limits of the assigned unit/equipment, ensuring safe transit of goods
  • Practices safe loading and unloading with forklift, pallet jack, or by hand
  • Complies with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route destinations, parking, break period, etc.)
  • Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, load security and ever-changing conditions
  • Communicates consistently via telephone, smart device
  • Performs other related duties as requested, including warehouse general labour, forklift work when truck or route not available

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of straight truck driving experience is required
  • Valid G license
  • Clean abstract preferred
  • Required to work Monday to Friday
  • Able to lift or move (push-pull) between 75-100 lbs
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail a must
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • PPE required: Safety vest, Steel toe boots & protective gloves
