Wiring Technician / Wireman

Join our team as a Wiring Technician / Wireman and play a key role in assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels for industrial refrigeration systems. In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with engineering and CAD teams to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely completion of projects. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience in panel wiring and testing, strong schematic reading skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. 

This is a full-time, unionized role based out of Burlington, ON.

What You’ll Do:

• Read, understand, and troubleshoot electrical schematics, wire diagrams, and single-line diagrams. 
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while handling equipment with care. 
• Manage project-specific materials in an orderly fashion. 
• Collaborate with engineering and CAD teams to meet project timelines. 
• Follow wiring processes and identify errors with precision. 
• Apply neat and accurate wiring practices. 
• Follow complex instructions and diagrams with minimal supervision. 
• Diagnose, test, and analyze performance of components, assemblies, and systems. 
• Set up and conduct testing of panels and related equipment. 
• Install electrical control systems, automation systems, and equipment including VFDs and PLCs. 
• Understand and work with various control systems, including older and utility-style protective relay panels. 

What You Bring:

• Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.  
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical panel wiring and testing.  
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.  
• Strong understanding of control systems and industrial automation.  
• Physical ability to perform shop and occasional field work (lifting 25–50 lbs, standing for extended periods).  
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
• Willingness to work in a unionized environment.
