Production Team Leader

Location: 36 Vimy, Acton ON Canada
Pay: $23-26 an hour + 3-dollar shift Premium
Night shift hours are: Monday to Thursday from 10:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Friday from 10:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.

This is a working Team Leader position for the night shift at our Acton, Ontario facility. You’ll play a key role in supporting production, developing team members, and optimizing operations.

About the role:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Team Leader will lead a team of production employees on the night shift. This hands-on leadership role focuses on fostering engagement, maintaining safety and quality standards, and optimizing resource use. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who balances leadership responsibilities with hands-on production work when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside team members in all areas of production, while building and maintaining a positive, productive working environment that reflects Superior Glove’s core values.
  • Lead, motivate, and support production employees as a mentor and coach to foster
    growth and development.
  • Manage performance, attendance, scheduling, and one-on-one communication with team members.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train production staff.
  • Complete payroll, safety, and HR-related documentation as required.
  • Use HRIS for timecard approvals and uploading documentation.
  • Manage production planning, safety, quality, and housekeeping for assigned areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities and tracking KPIs.
  • Promote employee engagement through surveys, feedback, and action plans.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair or consult on mechanical issues as needed.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and meetings to support broader business goals.
  • Adhere to all operational, safety, quality, and environmental procedures and policies.
  • Participate in company and community events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary certification in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality control principles preferred.
  • Proven coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to diagnose or assist in equipment troubleshooting.
  • Intermediate computer skills (e.g., MS Office, production systems).
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs, and perform bending, walking, pushing, and pulling tasks.
  • Forklift experience is considered an asset (licenses not required for this shift).
  • First Aid / AED certification and Joint Health & Safety Committee experience are considered assets.
