We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and motivated Facilities Maintenance professional to add to our team!
Job Overview
The Janitor’s primary function is to clean and maintain the shop facilities and yard, including garbage disposal, snow removal from sidewalks, and gardening.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Dust office furniture and fixtures once a week and daily for meeting rooms and the front entrance area.
2. Use a vacuum and mop to clean office floors, hallways, and stairs at least once a week and daily for meeting rooms and the front entrance area.
3. Respect business material, move and replace as necessary to clean.
4. Clean kitchen and coffee areas regularly, including sinks, counters, and appliances.
5. Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers, mirrors, and fixtures daily. Replenish toilet tissue, paper towels, air freshener, and soap as needed. Inspect all toilets twice a day and perform necessary additional cleaning.
6. Empty and clean all trash cans using a garbage bag as a liner. Place garbage in the outside storage bins.
7. Clean entrance and exit, including glass, doors, and hardware. Keep the outside area near the exit and entrance clear of snow, cans, and paper. Wash all finger marks from walls, doors, hardware, and glass.
8. Perform yard maintenance, including snow removal, de-icing, and weed removal from walkway and parking areas, pick-up of debris, garden tending, and trimming overgrowth around the building.
9. Perform and report minor maintenance repairs and report damages and acts of vandalism.
10. Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials, and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure staff safety. Restock materials and supplies through an established purchasing process.
11. Perform other general laborer duties as required.
Job-Specific Experience and Knowledge:
1. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and the ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
