For over 100 years, Superior Glove Works Ltd. (Superior Glove) has led the industrial safety market in the design and manufacture of innovative, high-quality gloves and sleeves.

We are currently recruiting for a Data Management Specialist to work in its Global Headquarters located in Acton, ON, Canada. 

Job/Position Summary:
The Data Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the organization, input, and maintenance of product data into company data platforms for both internal and external use. Additionally, this individual is responsible for the processes and communications necessary to maintain and update product data with our distributors.

This individual is highly skilled at data extraction, analysis, and liaising proactively with distributors to make sure Superior Glove products are well-represented to support sales. Communication between IT, Marketing, Purchasing, Sales, and Distributors is a critical component.

Superior Glove has locations in Point Leamington, Newfoundland, New York and Acton, Ontario.  The successful candidate will be based in Acton, ON, Canada. 

Responsibilities:
  • Review ERP style master data for accuracy and missing information. 
  • Collaborate with team leaders to resolve data questions, inconsistencies, and missing data. 
  • Negotiate with various leaders to establish timelines, consensus, and strategy. 
  • Promote and advocate for data governance by ensuring quality and accuracy of master data such as customer, part, supplier, etc. 
  • Import/export data from ERP systems and various databases. 
  • Create SQL queries to automate tasks, data load, and clean data. 
  • Develop reports to identify and analyze any data inconsistencies. 
  • Assess, prioritize and probe to develop recommendations on how best achieve business goals across various departments, such as inter-departmental processes. 
  • Assist with and facilitate business process mapping sessions with cross-functional teams and collect information that will guide the development of workflows and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Act as primary liaison for distributor data requests. Establish processes for accepting and fulfilling requests and for proactively updating data with distributors outside of requests for EDI setup, ERP system and/or website. 
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar or complimentary position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with ERP and SQL with the ability to import/export data from ERP systems and various databases. 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Data Management, Computer Science or related field.
  • Advanced understanding of core business processes and inter-departmental workflows.
  • Understand business processes and inter-departmental workflows to make decisions on data maintenance.
  • Programming experience to include creating SQL queries to automate tasks, data load, and clean data. 
  • Proficient use of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Superior analytical skills, must be extremely detailed 
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) 
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups of people and train on relevant topics 
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks based on daily business demands 
  • Follow and adhere to company’s policies and procedures
