Superior Glove Works Ltd.is currently hiring for a Chemical Technologist to work out of its Global Headquarters located in Acton, ON, Canada.

More about the role:
Reporting to the R&D Manager, the Chemical Technologist is responsible for supporting research projects, new test method development, product certification and documentation. Using research to gather information and apply concepts from prototype through delivering new or improved products. 
This individual is highly skilled in data analysis, understanding test methods and industry product performance requirements. Technical document writing and understanding relevant standard documents is requirement.
Superior Glove has locations in Point Leamington and Springdale, Newfoundland, New York, Shreveport Honduras, Mexico, and Acton ON.  The successful candidate will be based in Acton and must be willing and able to travel to the other locations regularly, sometimes with extended stays, as required.  

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct lab trials, formulation development trials, prototype development and pilot scale trials and validation.
  • Research raw materials, sourcing of new vendors, and coordinate with vendors to get samples for testing. 
  • Conduct testing and analysis on incoming raw materials, daily production QC testing, and prepare reports.
  • Maintaining required documentation for projects, new products, and product certification.
  • Prepare and maintain records for external PPE certification & submissions.
  • Communication with external certification bodies to accomplish internal product certification requirements.
  • Equipment testing, maintenance, and calibration.
  • Chemical compounding, prototype preparation, coordinating trials.
  • Gather required test results and reports to expedite certification process. 
  • Coordinate with external regulatory entities such as FDA, CFIA to certify products.
  • Organize the design of experiments, design prototype development, prepare protocols for trials.
  • Technical analysis for PPE to meet regulatory requirements. 
  • Gather required test results and reports to expedite certification process. 
  • Responsible for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) / Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Co-ordinate training and educational programs for internal teams on new technologies, innovations. Ensure accurate communication to the customers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Diploma/Degree in Chemical Engineering Technology or relevant post-secondary education is required (polymer technology/engineering will be added advantage).
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role.
  • Some familiarity with common laboratory equipment.
  • Previous experience with technical document writing and regulatory documentation would be an asset.
  • Working experience in laboratory, R & D projects or in a production environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in use of computer software such as MS Word, Excel, outlook, Excel Macro, VB, AutoCAD.
  • Good time management skills, organization skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
